OLG Splatter Guard – Foldable Stove Shield for Mess-Free Cooking

I like how this splash guard folds for compact storage. It is made of heavy-duty material, heavier than I was expecting, which is good as it should not break easily. My only complaint is that the bottom edge is made of metal with no protection to protect my new Induction Stove Top from scratches.I bought some "1/16" Rubber Edge Trim, Flexible Self Adhesive U Channel Edge Trim" (Amazon does not allow posting the actual product link). I used scissors to cut the trim into smaller pieces. Then only had to peel the red backing from the Self-Adhesive strip to attach it to the splash guard. I bought 10 feet of black edge trim; there is also a clear version, and 5 feet is plenty if you find a shorter length.The bottom edge is now fatter; however, the Splash Guard will still fit in the storage sleeve when the top is fed in first. I now use the Splash Guard with no fear of scratching my stove top.

Disclaimer: I am using this for a completely different purpose than originally intended.Rather than using as a splashguard, I've used this as a wind barrier for my mini camping stove. The metal pieces are thick and strong, so the wind will not knock it over easily. There is no worry about the flames going out by a gust of wind. I suppose you can also use this when starting campfires in windy conditions. Regardless of how you will use this screen, it will do a good job due to its solid construction.

This oil splash guard is metal with an attractive powder coating and comes in a nylon storage bag. The material is slightly thinner than expected but with little flex. My main personal grip is that the hinges between the panels are hyper-mobile, such that it can be tough to wrestle it into the desired configuration. A little more friction could go a long way to its ease of use. Overall, this is on the pricier side but is a clear step up from plastic and crinkles aluminum looking guards. Recommended if you want a particularly attractive and heat resistant splash guard.
